Staff Bio's
Anna Anguelova Atanassov
- Assistant Coach
Anna Anguelova Atanassov has been with OFA since 2000. She was
a former member of the Bulgarian National Fencing Team from 1985 to 1999
and then again in 2001. She was Olympic team member representing Bulgaria and
their team captian from 1990-98. She is a graduate of the National Academy of
Sport in Sofia with a degree as Physical Fitness teacher and a Masters in
Fencing. Although Anna's first love is foil, she has enjoyed adapting to sabre
and brings enthusiasm and high energy to all her classes.
Jacek Huchwajda - Assistant Coach
Jacek joined the OFA staff of coaches in December 2006. A graduate of the Coaches Academy in Cologne, Germany his most recent coaching experience is as one of the German National Coaches at the Tauberbischofsheim Olympic Fencing Center. His students included outstanding German sabre fencers Alex Weber (bronze medalist 1996 Olympic Games), Matthias Grimm (silver medalist Cadet World Championships); Susanne Konig (European Champion and 2004 Olympic team member); and Tamara Biesinger (FIE Junior World Cup Trophy holder).
Jacek himself is an accomplished sabre fencer with many titles as German National Champion. He was a member of the 1992 and 1996 German Olympic Teams. During his service years in the German Army he won the Military World Championships in 1991.
He enjoys his new life in the US and is joined by his wife, Magda, and young son Marcel.
